Plumbing systems don’t come with a warning siren that signals when something’s wrong. There’s no Siri-like voice that says “Hey, your main sewage line is blocked.”. But there are definite signs. And it’s up to you to recognize them, before there’s bigger trouble down the line (pun intended). If you have any of these problems, you should be suspicious. And call us, immediately.
• Multiple blocked up drains. Are more than one of your drains—toilets, showers, tubs, sinks backing up? Is the water slow to drain? Do the drains give off a bad odor? This could be a sign that wastewater is blocked, and you have a clog in the mainline.
• Sewage coming up from the floor drain. If your main sewer line is clogged, waste water has no place to escape. Eventually it will find its way to the floor drain, and you’ll be able to smell or see the sewage.
• Water backs up in the shower when the toilet flushes. This can occur with any combination of water fixtures too. For example, when you run your washing machine, toilets and sinks overflow.
If you experience any of these problems, call us at Zurn plumbing immediately. We have over 30 years of experience at handling water line clogs. Calling us now will prevent major problems later—or perhaps sooner than later.
