There are definitely more pleasant things to think about besides your sewer line. But a broken or clogged line can cause problems that are ghastly. To prevent this, it helps to be mindful of these common culprits.

Clogged Drains

Gurgling sounds are your sewer lines’ way of letting you know you’ve got a clog. Blockages can cause water backups and can raise pressure in the pipe to dangerous levels. Never send diapers, feminine hygiene products, or cooking grease down the drain.

Tree Roots

Nothing against trees, but tree roots can penetrate pipes, leading to clogs or even breaks. Obviously, the more trees you have, the greater your line is at risk. Let us perform an inspection to prevent damage.

Broken Pipe

Pipes and seals can break for any reason: increased pressure, soil shifts, and freezing. If this happens, you will probably see puddles or notice a strong unpleasant odor near the break or leak. If your home has a septic tank, it’s a good idea to have the pipes inspected every three years to keep them intact.
