If you have a sewer or water pipe issue, there’s an easy way to get to the root of your problem – a video inspection. It’s an efficient way to find leaks, cracks, and blockages so you can fix them quickly. Using a video inspection, you’ll see every pipe in your home and can even extend out as far as where your sewer line intersects to the municipal main.
How does it work?
At Zurn, our technicians perform a video inspection using a high-resolution video camera connected to a flexible fiberoptic scope. We use a monitor to watch a live feed as the camera maneuvers around to inspect the condition of your pipes and sewer lines, seeing what’s causing existing problems — and even finding potential ones. After the inspection is complete, we’ll give you a copy of the video footage and recommendations to fix a problem (or prevent future issues).
When is a video inspection recommended?
A video inspection is not always required, but we recommend it in the following situations:
- When you have troublesome leaks or blockages. If a leak or blockage is under your foundation or inside a concrete structure, a video inspection is the only way to locate it.
- When you have recurring drainage problems and back-ups. If your sinks, drains, and bathroom appliances frequently drain slowly or back up often, an issue may exist beyond your indoor plumbing.
- Before buying a home. It’s always a good idea to get a video inspection before you buy a home (especially an older home) so you can be aware of any issues that may be difficult or expensive to repair.
